About the team

Four editors, six contributors, three mills.

Hexpaper is small on purpose. Every sheet on the shelf has a name attached to it — someone who pulled the test, wrote the note, hand-numbered the run. Below is who. Real bios, real pens, real ink under the fingernails.

Folio II · The mills

Three small mills on three continents.

Where the paper actually comes from. We visit at least once a year.

I

Echizen, Japan · Since 2021

Itami-Kosho

A four-generation washi mill in Fukui prefecture. Twelve sheets in the first letter; the relationship has not paused since.

II

Cheongju, Korea · Since 2023

Hanji Sangmin

Pressed Hexpaper №07 over fourteen months. The eleventh test sheet was the one. Six hundred sheets, hand-numbered.

III

Triberg, Germany · Since 2024

Schwarzwald Papier

Cold-pressed cotton sheet, milled inside the Black Forest. Letters arrive twice a year, by post, in fountain ink.

Folio III · The contributors

Six writers we trust with a margin.

Independent makers who supply the column inches. They send test sheets, ghost notes and the occasional postcard. Bylines always credit; the cheque always clears.
